Description
Small Holder Farmers in communal areas are faced with considerable infrastructural back-logs and under investment. In response, Lima , through its interactions with communities and their leadership, identify a number of projects that require implementation. Lima assists individual farmers and groups to leverage funding through a combination of grants and loans, as well as project design and construction supervision.
Lima 's team of five agricultural engineers, six civil technicians and 8 foremen provide design, costing, project management and supervision services. Work itself is undertaken by local contractors who are given the necessary training and supervision. Lima implements the following infrastructure:

Impact
A total of 200 individual farmers and 2 000 community members have benefitted from agricultural infrastructure valued at over R 20 million from Lima in 2010. In addition over 100 contractors employing more and 1 000 people have been trained and employed during the year.
